About Me

I’m Jim Talbot, a digital product & creative ops executive in Los Angeles.

I enjoy making things and collaborating with others who share the same artistic curiosity. I’m best known for my ability to build and lead cross-functional teams that support complex multimedia and interactive projects (and for being the guy who wears checkered Vans to work every day). Bridging the gap between corporate clients and the creative and technical talents who bring the magic to life is my wheelhouse — I empathize with these groups, speak their languages, and understand the challenges that can arise when we’re all in the trenches together.

I began my career as a UI/UX Designer for world-renowned creative consultancy Frog Design, and I hold a BFA in Design from The University of Texas at Austin. Following the dot-com bust in 2001, I put down roots in L.A., where I continue to pursue my professional passions today. My involvement in the creation of digital products spans various industries – clients including Disney, Apple, Pepsi, Sony Pictures, National Geographic, Panasonic, and Netflix, just to name a few. I’ve served on award juries for the Clio Entertainment Awards and PromaxGames, and I’m a member of the Producers Guild of America.

While free time isn’t something I have in abundance these days, I manage to maintain a few interests and hobbies. I’m a cheeseburger enthusiast, an expert skier, a mediocre snowboarder, a tiki bar connoisseur, an amateur cartoonist, and a lover of Boston Terriers, live music, and Mid-Century modern furniture. Call me crazy, but pineapple is my favorite pizza topping. I don’t regularly meditate or do yoga, but I do play ice hockey at least once a week — that’s basically the same thing, right?

I’m a team player who strives to lead by example, and my most important job title is Dad. When I’m not meeting deadlines or chasing new projects, I enjoy exploring the hidden pockets of Southern California and beyond with my amazing wife and two daughters. They keep me feeling young even though it’s been years since I looked the part!
